Butyl rubber stopper and natural rubber stopper difference
Butyl rubber stopper mainly of polyisobutylene, however the methyl groups in the polyisobutylene have big stereo obstacles, so the molecular thermal motion is not active, so the gas transmittance is small and medium-sized, synthetic rubber and molecular double the number in the main chain of few, therefore and ultraviolet resistance, ozone resistance weather resistance is very good, moreover is also high heat resistance. And butyl rubber is non-polar, so it has good resistance to polar solvents, so it can give a good chemical stability.
The advantages of butyl rubber stopper are summarized as follows:
(1) With good air tightness, minimal air permeability.
(2) good high temperature resistance.
(3) Good ozone resistance and weather resistance.
(4) alkali, acid medium solvent.
(5) poor water absorption, good radiation resistance
Natural rubber stopper used in packaging, because there are so many problems, in the natural rubber because of the existence of protein, organic matter and inorganic matter, which cause adverse reactions, and nonpolar rubber of natural rubber, so it can only some polar solvent, and is easy to appear in nonpolar solvent inflation such as resistance to aging, not oil resistance and nonpolar solvents.
Disadvantages of natural rubber stoppers are summarized as follows:
(1) Poor air tightness
(2) Poor resistance to chemical media
(3) Poor aging resistance
(4) Poor high temperature and radiation resistance
(5) Poor weather resistance
(6) Because it contains more substances such as proteins which are not easy to separate, its purity is low.
